GRADE 8 ACCELERATION The Board of Education provides the opportunity for intellectually able eighth grade students to enroll in courses of study beyond the regular eighth grade program.
Parents shall be notified in writing when their child enters grade six (6), or when their child enrolls in the Middle School, of the opportunity for acceleration in grade eight (8).
Students who elect to accelerate must demonstrate readiness by satisfying one of the following:
1.
enrolling in the high school course as a result of successful completion of an accelerated program, when such program is provided, prior to grade eight; or,
2.
notifying the Middle School Principal of the...
