Career Education at D.C.S.
In the Guidance Office, Career Education is a high priority. One on the benefits of being a small school is that the school counselors have the time to get into the classrooms to enourage students to explore future career possibilities. There is a progression of career education activities each year that include career assessments, accessing information & resources available in the Guidance Office and shadowing experiences. The goal is to help students connect the importance of their education to their future career plans. Career Education helps students choose high school courses that will prepare them for the next step whether it is college or entering into the word of work. Career portfolio files for each student are kept by the Guidance Counselors to assist them with their career plans.
