The Family and Consumer Science Group decided at the dinner meeting at Club 86 to meet three times this year. The meeting dates and location are:

 March 14, 2000 (3:30 - 5:30 p.m.)  Arcadia Building, BOCES
 April 11, 2000 (3:30 - 5:30 p.m.)    Arcadia Building, BOCES
 May 16, 2000 (3:30 - 5:30 p.m.)  To be determined

Despite the small number of attendees at the March 14th meeting, the group accomplished the tasks and engaged in discussion related to the following:

1.   Each participant completed a data-gathering tool to begin to build a network database which consists of contact information and areas of interest and expertise in Family and Consumer Science.

2.   The group discussed the issue of the group size and of recruitment and decided they would like to continue despite small numbers in attendance.

3.   The group will be attending Docushare Training on March 16, 2000, at EduTech.

4.   Two professional development activities were discussed. We will be planning a grant writing workshop and a possible field trip to WXXI to hear about resources available to teachers.

5.   Marla will draft and send a letter of invitation to Family and Consumer Science Teachers who were identified at the last meeting as possible participants.

Next meeting:  April 11, 2000
     Arcadia Conference Room
     3:30 - 5:30 p.m.
