ATTENDANCE: Larry Dugan (Bloomfield); Sue Whitney (Canandaigua); Margaret Clark (Geneva); Brenda Neal (Lyons); Karyn Sabara (Romulus); Rae Ann Guthinger (BOCES Voc Ed - WAVC); Jan Wright (Phelps-Clifton Springs)

Larry Dugan opened the discussion with a focus for the group. We need to talk to the businesses of the area to analyze the needs for future employment. What does our area need? We are going to talk directly to employers. The groups involved are FLCC, School-To-Work, BOCES, and Computer Technology Program Network. The focus to be visionary and not curricular.

Jim Armstrong (Wayne County Economic Committee) will be meeting with area businesses and local school districts to determine employment needs. Larry talked with FLCC’s Pat Nettin, head of Computer Science, Becky Gamba (School to Work coordinator), Daily Messenger, and Jack McCabe (BOCES) about a survey of employer’s needs. This year there are 350,000 jobs that remain unfilled.

The next step will be the outline for this instrument.
