    ABSENT/EXCUSED:
     
    CALL TO ORDER: Board President Nickoline Henne r called the meeting to order at
    7:00 pm and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
     
    Several corrections were made to the Agenda befor e approval: item #7e1.
    the clause “due to denial of tenure” was removed, # 7d. “and the
    committee on Pre School Education” was added, #7e8. the title of the
    special assignment was corrected to “Assistant Pupil Personnel
    Coordinator/Staff Developer”, and #7e9. was corrected to “Appointment
    of K-9 Special Education Teacher.”
     
    Items #7e1., #7e2., and #7e8. were pulled from the agenda for discussion
    in Executive Session.
     
    1a. APPROVAL OF Clifford Parton moved and Edward M agin seconded the following
    AGENDA: motion. The vote was unanimou s. N. Henner, J. Buckalew, R. Cahoon,
    K. DeAngelis, M. DeBadts, K Durham, E. Magi n, C. Parton, O. Rothfuss
    III voted yes.
           
    Be it resolved that the Board of Education, upon re commendation of the
    Superintendent of Schools and pursuant to Education Law, approves the
    agenda of May 26, 2009 with corrections and pulled items.
     
    2. PUBLIC ACCESS Mike Witkiewitz voiced concerns
    to the Board regarding music
    TO THE BOARD: schedules for next year. He
    urged the Board to reconsider their decision
    on eliminating a music teacher.
     
    3. PRESENTATIONS: There were no presentations.
        
    4a. ADMINISTRATOR’S The Board thanked the administ rators for their reports.
    REPORTS:
     
    4b. FOUR COUNTY SCHOOL Edward Magin reported that a group from the Board attended the
    BOARD MEETING: Annual Meeting of the Four C
    ounty School Boards Association. He
    mentioned that the meeting was enjoyable and inform ative. There was a
    nice art exhibit from Wayne Central School and the

    Geneva Jazz Band that performed. Dr. Tom Rogers, E xecutive Director,
    NY State Council of School Superintendents, spoke about leadership and
    problems that schools will face with budget finances in the next few years.
    Melinda DeBadts and other outgoing Board members from the Four
    County area were recognized and thanked for their s ervice to education.
                                                  
    4c. STUDENT BOE Larissa Bodine mentioned that she has finished compiling the exit poll
    MEMBER REPORT: survey results from the budget vote and copies were distributed.

    4d. OTHER GOOD NEWS Mrs. Miner mentioned that the M iddle School History Bowl was a
    OF THE DISTRICT: great success. Mrs. Miner, Jacinda Lisanto and Robert Magin participated
    in the annual North Rose Elementary Memorial Day parade. The Project
    Phoenix fashion show was an outstanding event, and a class will be offered
    in the future on recyclable fashions. Mrs. Miner m entioned that Jennifer
    Hayden recently finished her Administrative Leadership training and was

    voted yes.
       
    Be it resolved that the Board of Education, upon recommendation of the
    Superintendent of Schools and pursuant to Education Law, approves the
    Meeting Minutes of May 19, 2009.
     
     
    7. CONSENT AGENDA Clifford Parton moved and Melinda DeBadts seconded the following
    motion. The vote was unanimous. N. Henner , J. Buckalew, R. Cahoon,
    K. DeAngelis, M. DeBadts, K Durham, E. Magin, C. Parton, O. Rothfuss III

    REPRESENTATIVE: Heather Heindl as a parent mem ber to serve on the Committee on Special
    Education and the Committee on Pre School Special Ed ucation for the
    2008-2009 school year.
     
    7e3. LETTER OF Be it resolved that the Board of Ed ucation, upon recommendation of the
    RESIGNATION: Superintendent of Schools and pu rsuant to Education Law, accepts
    ANGELIC DURHAM resignation of Angelic Durham, Library Media Specialist at the North Rose
    Elementary School, contingent upon her reappointment to a position in

    the service of Brandy Starczewski, being the least senior person in that title
    area, in the North Rose - Wolcott Central School Di strict at the close of
    business on June 30, 2009. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Brandy
    Starczewski’s name be placed on the Preferred Eligibility List of candidates

    District at the close of business on June 30, 2009. BE IT FURTHER

    (1) .5 SOCIAL STUDIES: Be it resolved that the Boar d of Education of the North Rose-Wolcott
    SCOTT CUNNINGHAM Central School District, upon recommendation of the Superintendent of
    Schools and pursuant to Education Law, discontinues the services of Scott
    Cunningham, .5 Social Studies Teacher, at the clos e of business on June
    30, 2009. A part-time teacher does not qualify for placement on the
    Preferred Eligibility List.
     
    (1) .5 TEACHING Be it resolved that the Board of E ducation of the North Rose-Wolcott
    ASSISTANT: Central School District, upon recommendation of the Superintendent of
    SCOTT CUNNINGHAM Schools and pursuant to Education Law, discontinues the services of Scott
    Cunningham, .5 Teaching Assistant at the close of b usiness on June 30,
    2009. A part-time Teaching Assistant does not qualify for placement on
    the Preferred Eligibility List.
     
    7e5. CREATION OF Be it resolved that the Board of Education, upon recommendation of the
    (1) 1.0 FTE CLEANER: Superintendent of Sch ools and pursuant to Education Law, approves the
    creation of (1) 1.0 FTE Cleaner. This is a $9.00/hr ., 8 hours/day, 12
    month position with a base salary of $18,720.00. A night differential of
    $425.00 will be added to result in the 2009-2010 sal ary of $19,145.00.
     
    7e6. CREATION OF Be it resolved that the Board of Education, upon recommendation of the
    (1) 1.0 FTE Superintendent of Schools an d pursuant to Education Law, approves the
    MAINTENANCE WORKER/ creation of (1) 1.0 F TE Maintenance Worker/Groundskeeper. The starting
    GROUNDSKEEPER rate for this position will be $10.00/hr, 8 hrs./day, with an annual salary
    of $20,800.00 for the 2009-2010 school year. After three full years of
    service, the individual in this position receives a $700 annual differential
    being “experienced”.
     
    7e7. REAPPOINT ANGELIC Be it resolved that the Board of Education, upon recommendation of the
    DURHAM INTO Superintendent of Schools and pursuant to Education Law, approves the
    ELEMENTARY TENURE reappointment of Angelic Durham into the Elementary tenure area, with
    AREA: credit for her number of years of pr evious service on the Elementary
    seniority list.
     
    7e9. APPOINT 1.0 FTE K-9 Be it resolved that the Boa rd of Education, upon recommendation of the
    SPECIAL EDUCATION Superintendent of School s and pursuant to Education Law, approves the
    TEACHER: three year probationary appoin tment of Jessica Burgess, conditional upon
    JESSICA BURGESS a criminal history record check according to Commissioners Regulation
    §80-1.11 and Part 87 as follows:

    9. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: There was no public partic ipation.
     
    Mrs. Henner congratulated the Budget Committee, Robert Magin and
    Cindy Miner for bringing a budget to the community that was successfully
    passed. Many hours of work and dedication were inv olved in doing this.
     
    Mrs. Henner called for a short break. Jan McDorman and all guests left
    the meeting at this time. Lucinda Miner served as note taker for the
    remainder of the meeting.
     
    10. EXECUTIVE SESSION: Robert Cahoon moved and Cli fford Parton seconded the following motion.
    The vote was unanimous. N. Henner, J. Buckalew, R. Cahoon, K.
    DeAngelis, K. Durham, M. DeBadts, E. Magin, C. Parto n, O. Rothfuss III
    voted yes.
     
    Be it resolved that the Board of Education, upon r ecommendation of the
    Superintendent of Schools and pursuant to Education Law, approves
    Executive Session at 7:57 pm for the specific purpo se of discussing pulled
    agenda items and personnel matters.
      
     
     
    OPEN SESSION The meeting returned to open session at
    9:05 pm.
     
    A motion was made by Melinda DeBadts and seconded by Clifford Parton
    to reinstate Agenda Items #7e2. and #7e8. The vote was unanimous. N.
    Henner, J. Buckalew, R. Cahoon, K. DeAngelis, M. DeBadts, K. Durham, E.
    Magin, C. Parton, O. Rothfuss III voted yes.
     
     
    TERMINATION OF Robert Cahoon motioned and Melinda DeBadts seconded the following

    Be it resolved that the Board of Education, upon re
    commendation of the
    Superintendent of Schools and pursuant to Education Law, terminates the
    probationary employment of Brooke Paxton, School Counselor, due to
    denial of tenure, in the North Rose - Wolcott Centr al School District at the
    close of business on June 30, 2009.
     
    APPOINT ADMINISTRATIVE Edward Magin motioned and Kari Durham seconded the following
    INTERN: motion. The vote was unanimous. N. Henne r, J. Buckalew, R. Cahoon, K.
    DONNA BROOKS DeAngelis, K. Durham, M. DeBadts, E. Magin, C. Parton, O. Rothfuss III
    voted yes.
     
    Be it resolved that the Board of Education, upon re commendation of the
    Superintendent of Schools and pursuant to Education Law, approves the
    appointment of Donna Brooks as a teacher on special assignment to the
    position of Administrative Intern serving as Assistant Pupil Personnel
    Coordinator/Staff Developer. The salary for this position for the 2009-10
    school year will be $58,600, effective September 1,
    2009– August 31,
    2010. Mrs. Brooks will continue to accrue seniority in the English tenure
    area during this time. A Memorandum of Understanding is on file with
    the District Clerk.
     
    EXECUTIVE SESSION: Kathy DeAngelis moved and Kari Durham seconded the following motion.
