On September 22
nd
, printmaker Will DeMott came to
give a presentation on monotype printing for the high
school art students of North Rose-Wolcott. He spent the
day doing a hands on workshop for over 150 students.

Using ink, a roller, a plexiglass plate and a variety of
everyday tools, students created detailed landscape
imagery.
Landscape by Alexandria P.

Ink and roller
Brushes, cardboard pieces,
kitchen scrubbers.

Students start by rolling up the entire plate with ink.

Then the ink starts to come off and the image emerges….

..working with q tips, paper towel, scrubbies,
cardboard…whatever will get the ink off and create the trees,
the sky, the land.

The finished plate goes to the press and is covered with a
fresh piece of dampened paper.

The plate and the paper are rolled through the press.
Olivia K. displays her finished image.
