    To the Parents or Guardians of our Ninth Graders:
     
    You should know that our students will be studying Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet shortly, and will be watching the Baz Luhrmann version of the play, starring Leonardo Di Caprio, Claire Danes, and John Leguizamo. It is rated PG–13.
     
    If you would like to preview the video here or if you object to your child’s seeing it, I would love to talk with you in order to accommodate your concerns.
     
    I’m sure that you recall the play and that you know how important it is in our culture and in our English Language Arts program. This video will hold the students’ attention as few movies do.
