The SchoolÂtoÂWork Opportunities program, sponsored by the
U. S. Departments of Labor and Education, in cooperation with our local Genesee,
Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming (GLOW) Partnership, provides all learners with
realÂwork experiences to help prepare them for the future. Through the integration of
school work and experience in the workplace, students can gain a strong work ethic,
selfÂconfidence, a sense of responsibility and a better understanding of the job
market.
SchoolÂtoÂWork has many variations. For many students, it is SchoolÂtoÂSchoolÂtoÂ
Work as they move from high school to college before entering the job force. For
other students, it means SchoolÂtoÂWorkÂtoÂSchool, as they enter the job market and
realize they need further education. Regardless of the variation, SchoolÂtoÂWork is for
all learners.
GLOW students routinely participate in SchoolÂtoÂWork activities. These include
School Based Experiences, Work Based Experiences, and Connecting Activities.
