The meeting was preceded by a short reception for new teachers. The meeting was called to

order at 7:18 p.m. by President Stevens.

B. MINUTES:

Special Meeting September 14, 2005

A motion was made by Mr. Paice, seconded by Mrs. Dates, to approve the minutes of

the Special Meeting of September 14, 2005.

Carried unanimously.

C. TREASURER’S REPORTS

2. Warrants through September 28, 20

REGULAR MEETING, SEPTEMBER 28, 2005

A motion was made by Mr. Paice, seconded by Mrs. Dates, to approve a General Fund a

School Lunch Fund Monthly Warrant of $6,357.31, a School Lunch Fund System Warrant

of $22,583.50, a Special Aids Fund Monthly Warrant of $111,361.39, a Special Aids Fund

System Warrant of $5,732.40, and a Capital Fund System Warrant of $3,500.00.

Carried unanimously.

D. UNFINISHED BUSINESS AND REPORTS

E. NEW BUSINESS

1. Certified Staff

Appointment: Volunteer Girls’ Soccer Coach; Appointment: Substitute Teacher,

Barbara W. Coleman; Appointment: Reading Teacher (longterm substitute),

Amanda R. Bailey:

Upon recommendation by the Superintendent, a motion was made by Mr. Paice,

seconded by Mr. Osterhaudt;

That the Board of Education of the Red Creek Central School District hereby

appoints Joseph Berson as Volunteer Girls’ Varsity Soccer Coach for the Fall 2005

season; and

That the Board of Education of the Red Creek Central School District hereby

appoints the following as a substitute teacher:

Barbara W. Coleman BS Degree

Permanent Certification K8

and

That the Board of Education of the Red Creek Central School District hereby

appoints Amanda R. Bailey to the longterm substitute position of Reading Teacher

(1.0 FTE) effective October 20, 2005 through January 27, 2006. Certification area

and status are Reading Teacher with Provisional Certification. This appointment is

in accordance with Education Law, the Regulations of the Commissioner of

Education, and the ByLaws of the Board of Education.

Appointment: Substitute Food Service Helper, Bonnie J. Powers:

Upon the recommendation by the Superintendent, a motion was made by Mr. Paice,

seconded by Mrs. Dates;

That the Board of Education of the Red Creek Central School District hereby

appoints Bonnie J. Powers as a Substitute Food Service Helper.

Carried unanimously.

3. CSE Recommendations

None.

Revised Policy No. 7000: Designation of Person in Parental Relation:

Upon recommendation by the Superintendent, a motion was made by Mr. Paice,

seconded by Mr. Osterhaudt;

That the Board of Education of the Red Creek Central School District hereby

approves Policy No. 7000, “Designation of Person in Parental Relation,” dated

2005.

Carried unanimously.

5. Approval: Reading Textbook:

Upon recommendation by the Superintendent, a motion was made by Mr. Paice,

seconded by Mrs. Dates;

That the Board of Education of the Red Creek Central School District hereby

approves the purchase of the SRA McGraw/Hill

Reading Mastery

text series for the

200506 school year.

Carried unanimously.

Student Teacher Practicum Placement, SUNY Oswego, Fall 2005

Upon recommendation by the Superintendent, a motion was made by Mr. Paice,

seconded by Mrs. Dates;

That the Board of Education of the Red Creek Central School District hereby

Upon recommendation by the Superintendent, a motion was made by Mr. Paice,

seconded by Mrs. Dates;

That the Board of Education of the Red Creek Central School District hereby

adjust the School Tax Roll (Assessment) for the 200506 school tax year for the

following parcel located in the Town of Wolcott:

Tax Map #7811817068100

from $58,600 to $28,600

and

That the Tax Collector be and hereby is authorized to issue a new tax statement

reflecting said change; and

That the Board of Education of the Red Creek Central School District hereby

adjust the School Tax Roll (Assessment) for the 200506 school tax year for the

following parcel located in the Town of Wolcott:

from $69,600 to $39,600

and

That the Tax Collector be and hereby is authorized to issue a new tax statement

reflecting said change; and

That the Board of Education of the Red Creek Central School District hereby

NYSSBA Area Director Election

A motion was made by Mr. Paice, seconded by Mrs. Dates, to support Jeanne

Durfee to be a member of the NYSSBA Board of Directors.

3. Fall Sports Season Update from S. Sugar Fall sports teams have had a successful start

to their seasons. The boy’ varsity soccer team is currently ranked #1 in Class C NYS

rankings.

G. SUPERINTENDENT’S CORRESPONDENCE AND REPORTS

Mr. Sholes shared his correspondence and reported on the items listed.

Grade Orientation Mr. Patterson commented briefly on the success of the evening.

4. MS and Elementary Open House Mr. Lawrence and Mrs. Sereno commented on the

success of the combined event.

5. Regulations of the Commissioner of Education Parts 200 and 201 Confidential psycho

educational evaluation. Mrs. Herbst commented on this matter.

6. P.E. Secondary Curriculum Mr. Sholes reported to the Board of Ed. on modifications

that are being studied. Discussion followed.

EXECUTIVE SESSION:

A motion was made by Mr. Paice, seconded by Mrs. Dates, to enter into Executive Session

at 7:53 p.m. to discuss personnel issues and negotiations.

Carried unanimously.

Without objection from any Board member, President Stevens moved the Board out of

Executive Session at 9:18 p.m.

NonContractual Salaries 200506 (Confidential/Managerial); Administrative Salary

Adjustments 200506:

Upon recommendation by the Superintendent, a motion was made by Mr. Paice, seconded

by Mrs. Dates;

That the Board of Education of the Red Creek Central School District hereby establishes the

200506 salaries for: Sharon C. Gregg, Jean M. Wilkinson, Christine D. Tuttle, Melissa D.

Skinner, David J. Gasbarro, and Pamela L. Gallant; and

That the Board of Education of the Red Creek Central School District hereby approves and

establishes the following administrative salaries for the 200506 school year:

Randall L. Lawrence Middle School Principal

Lynda L. Sereno Elementary School Principal

Andrew J. DiBlasi Asst. Supt. for Business

Julia P. Herbst Director of Special Educ.
