    HISTORY 203 – SUPREME COURT CASE ACITIVTY
     
     
    John Marshall became the Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court in 1801 and served in that position for the next 34 years. Active in politics his entire life, and serving in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, Marshall became a staunch supporter of the Federalist party and a strong and powerful Federal Government. The decisions made during his tenure on the Court reflected his positions and helped to shape the direction of the United States for many years to come.
     
    Listed below are 7 cases decided while John Marshall served as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. For each case listed complete the following:
