Greetings from Wayne Central School District. This will be a short newsletter since we just met last night

    Board Newsletter:

    1. Administrative Retreat - Your administrative team competed its retreat at Colgate University on Wednesday. The goals established at the Board/Administrative worksesion have been turned into action plans. We will be sharing this at an upcoming board meeting.

    2. Ginna Meeting – The Ginna meetings has been changed to Thursday, July 29 at 10:00. We are hopeful they have a proposal that can form the basis of a settlement.

    3. Construction Project – The project is moving along at a fairly good pace now. There are some pictures of the elementary buildings on the district web page if you are interested.

    4. State Budget – The Governor is calling the legislature back into session, but we are not hopeful there will be a budget anytime soon. Of course, who knows? Maybe they will announce one tomorrow……

    5. New Staff – We have completed hiring all but 2 of our new staff. Tis is our earliest year ever. There may be a few last resignations but we do not expect many. The high school interview team has completed the process of selecting a short term replacement for Holly Armitage while she is on maternity leave. They considered two internal candidates and are recommending to me, high school science teacher Mark MacMillian. Mark has completed all of the administrative program except for the internship. This work will fulfill that requirement.
