“The pleasure of criticizing robs us of the pleasure of being moved by some very fine things.”

- La Bruyére, les Caractères

Greetings from Wayne Central School District. Below are some items of interest.

Newsletter:

1. Three boards Meeting: Our Three Boards meeting will be this Monday at _:00 at Casey Park. I have not seen the agenda yet although we have requested the following three items be discussed;
a. Walworth Academy
b. Ginna Sale
c. Building Project Update

2. MCC: The MCC Board of Trustees has approved the Wayne extension site. Now that both the County and MCC have approved the expansion we are ready to move forward. I meet with MCC next week to finalize a start date and a list of initial classes.

3. Financial Workshop: Mr. Atseff will be holding a financial workshop for the Board on October 29th. Many of us had a chance to listen to SED representative Mary Ellen Clark on Wednesday. She provided us with a great deal of interesting information. I have enclosed an article I came across on defrauding school districts. It points out two things. First there are scoundrels out there who will steal the taxpayer’s (and children’s) money. Secondly there have to be checks in place to make it difficult for that to occur. I have also given a copy of this the Greg and asked that as part of the presentation he explain the procedures we have in place (or will have to add) in order to make sure this doesn’t happen here.

4. Varsity Soccer: Our boys’ varsity soccer team beat Canandaigua last night to win the Finger Lakes East League championship. This is the fifth year in a row that they have won the title. Our girl’s soccer also did well this year losing only three games. Girl’s volleyball begins sectionals tonight at home.

5. Four School Boards: Tomorrow morning I meet with a group from Four School Boards to outline a legislative strategy to deal with the late budget passage. I will keep you abreast of our progress.
