    HOMEWORK THROUGH WEEK: READ One Fat Summer.
    Day 1:
  • As preparation for reading One Fat Summer , students examine and explain nutrition information on a sample of packaged food, diagram nutritional content of a typical fast food meal..
    Students review and list strategies for multiple choice tests in Regents Prep 46–47; students check prompt on 15; teacher reads aloud 48–50; students answer mult.choice on 50-51; students examine explanation for answers on 51-53 (this activity may run over into next class.).
    Day 2:
    As preparation for reading One Fat Summer , students share information and opinions of gains/losses in taking a summer job.
  • Students review scoring criteria on 55-56; compare their earlier work with sample on 56-58 in Regents Prep .
  • Day 3: For chapter 1 of One Fat Summer , students defend their answers to questions in handout. They explain the significance of basic questions of fact.
    Students explain main points in 58–59 in Regents Prep.; do 59, Activity F ; do 60–63. [Advise students to keep outlines for next week’s work.]
