Beliefs
Our students are our first priority. The impact of everything we do will be
weighed against its impact on our students.

We believe all children can learn.
•
We believe that we are required to educate the whole child.
•
We believe that communication is the single most important skill a student can
learn and that this skill has four parts:
1. Reading; 2. Writing; 3.Listening; and 4. Speaking.

We believe that the education of a child requires the active involvement of the
entire community and that the contribution of the Parent, Teacher, and Student are
crucial to our success.

We believe that all children need to understand and demonstrate good citizenship.
•
We believe that all children need to understand and demonstrate good character.
•
We believe that education is a life long endeavor. Thus, successful students will
develop a love for education.

We believe that the successful student will begin to focus their education to
develop mastery in preferred areas so that they can contribute to the body of

We believe that all children need to understand and demonstrate the obligations
and rewards of service to themselves and others.

We believe that all children learn by example, thus, all District employees are
required to be good examples.
•
We believe that knowledge without wisdom is useless and can be dangerous.
Thus, the successful student will obtain knowledge and the wisdom to use it
appropriately.

We believe that minimum competency is not enough.

The role of the Board of Education is to establish policy, set goals, give support,
supply resources, and to ensure compliance.
•
We believe that all of the stakeholders must be involved in a decision to maximize
the effectiveness, through ownership, of its implementation.

All District employees are responsible for the welfare and education of all of our
students.
•
We believe that the role of administration is to implement the policy and mission
set forth by the Board of Education.
•
We believe that the administration is accountable for reporting on the status of the
District mission and implementation of Board policy on a regular basis.
•
We believe that our buildings belong to the community and will serve as places for
lifelong learning.
