“In times of change, there is no incentive so great, and no medicine so powerful as hope for a better tomorrow.”

Greetings from Wayne Central School District. Below are some items of interest.

Newsletter:

1. MCC Information – Enclosed is an informational folder from MCC regarding the use of Wayne Central High School as a satellite campus for college level courses. At this initial stage, there is significant interest from Monroe Community College. The opportunities this would provide to both our high school students AND our community is tremendous. I will keep you informed of any developments.

2. CSEA Grievance - CSEA has filed an informal grievance regarding the building aides school day. The contract states that the building aides shall work a 7 hour day. Over time the building aides had drifted to a 6.5 hour day. This was probably a result of the frequent changes in administration. This has been an issue for some time, however we waited until the new contract was settled before we implemented the language. I met with the union membership this summer and they did not express any concern at that time about following the contract as written. However, once someone objected, they decided they did not favor it. I will be meeting with the union leadership once again on Monday to discuss this issue.

3. New Staff – We are hiring our last staff members. Principals have been very pleased with the new staff coming to Wayne Central.
