    Middle School June Calendar

    From Mr. Kissinger……..

    Dear Parents,

Once again there is so much going on here at Williamson Middle
School that it would be im
possible to mention all of it in this article.
Everyone seems busier than the next person.

An area of concern that has come
to the forefront with the current
summer like weather is what children should or should not wear to
school. As stated in the st
udent handbook the law provides that
student dress should not interfere with the orderly management of the
    school. This is rath
er vague. At the school we constantly find
ourselves spending valuable time deciding whether or not a shirt or
    dress strap is t
oo thin or if shorts are too short. To eliminate this
distraction to the educational process I am asking that parents not
send their children to school in tank tops without tee shirts
underneath. Also when determining the length of shorts have your
child stand straight with their hands at their sides. The shorts should
be beyond the fingertips. I understand that the buildi
    ng can become
hot in the last few weeks of school and students want to be
comfortable. Some clothing, however, can make others
uncomfortable and distract from our primary mission, which is
education. I look forward to your support on this matter as we al
    l
strive to make this a safe and positive learning environment.

    Sincerely yours,

It seems especially poignant to be expressing the
desperation of the Jews during the Holocaust of
    WWII. The Palestinian/Israeli
    crisis comes up for
discussion. Peace is eluding many people just
    now.

The 5/6 Student Association sponsored the Spring

provided by Scott Spezzano from the radio station
98 PXY. The students were very excited he was
    there
and had a great time dancing, eating
    refreshments and participating in
contests. We would like to thank all
    the parent chaperon

dance as well as faculty here at the
Middle School for making the dance a
    huge success.

    On Tuesday, May 21s
    t the 5/6 Student
    Association held an Ice
    Cream Social,
which provided the refreshments for the
Festival of the Arts. Our group

    members made ice

members had a great time making the sundaes, and
those who attended the Festival of Arts
    enjoyed
eating them! Overall, it was a very fun evening for
    all.

Our last meeting of the year will be in June. We
    will than
