    During Reports to the Board, each Board Member shared some of their recent activities.
    Gretchen Craft attended last weekend’s Learning Fair; Deborah Larson and Laur ie Verbridge
    attended the Town Bicentennial Birthday Party; Bill Herbert spent part of Wednesday at the
    Superintendent’s Conference Days activities and Board President, Richard Jordan, spoke of his
    attendance at the special Board Meeting to work on strategic planning. The Superintendent
    acknowledged tonight’s Board of Education Student Representative, Zack Knowlden, for being
    named as Wayne County’s only National Merit Semi­Finalist. She also acknowledged Senator
    Nozzolio for his help in securing a complete refund to students for this Fall’s cancelled France
    Trip.
     
    Under the Consent Agenda Jack Matthys was approved as a Middle School Teacher Assistant
    and Katie Helmbold was appointed as a long­term substitute in the Middle School.
     
    Under Old Business, the financial report for the Extra­Curricular Classroom Management
    Activity Funds were approved after new regulations covering those funds were reviewed.
    Several Health Policies underwent second readings and the first reading of a policy on
    fundraising was approved.
     
    Under New Business, the 2002­2003 school calendar was approved. The Board reviewed the
    recommendations for hardware for the Capital Project and approved Kevin O’Dell as Project
    Manager for this Capital Project. Della Ludwig was re­assigned to the position of Middle/High
    School Technology Integration Specialist and the Board accepted the resignation of First Grade
    Teacher, Diane Bellows, with regret. The book, Life’s Greatest Lessons was approved for use
    through June 2003. The Board would like an implementation update at that point.
     
    The upcoming full­day Strategic Planning Workshop was announced before the Board recessed
    to Executive Session.
