PROBATION
 
The probationary period for certified personnel shall be three (3) years in length, unless specified otherwise by law.
 
 
During this period, the services of certified personnel may be terminated by the Board of Education upon recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools and in accordance with provisions of the Education Law and applicable contracts.
 
 
Any certified person who resigns from his/her position and subsequently returns shall begin a new probationary period.
 
 
No certified person will be placed on tenure at the end of the probationary period who has not been rated acceptable or better. Supervisors shall keep probationary staff informed as to whether their work performance is satisfactory in terms of the standards of the district. Written statements concerning this evaluation are to be sent to probationary staff.
