The Board of Education acknowledges that proper instrumentation is necessary for the success of the band program.
The district will provide instruments necessary for proper instrumentation of the various musical organizations except for clarinets, trumpets, flutes, trombones, and alto saxophones; these, parents/guardians will be expected to provide for their child’s use. Exceptions may be made in cases of financial hardship.
Music teachers will aid parents in the selection of instruments by recommending to parents/guardians the quality of instruments appropriate for various levels of instruction and suggesting names of local music stores which rent or sell instruments.
A fee will not be charged for the use of a school instrument, but parents/guardians will agree to be responsible for any deliberate damage or any loss that may occur while the instrument in their child’s care.
