The Board of Education believes the development and adoption of policies is one of the most important functions of a School Board, and the execution of those policies is the function of the Superintendent of Schools.
Delegation by the Board of its executive powers to the Superintendent provides freedom for him/her to manage the school within the Board's policies and frees the Board to devote its time to policymaking and appraisal functions.
The Board holds the Superintendent responsible for the administration of its policies, the execution of Board decisions, the operations of the district, the educational programs, and for keeping the Board informed.
