    English 12 (meeting daysBCE): in order:
    1. Students set due date for first edition of newspaper. Editors brainstorm possible names for newspaper; guide student selection. Students start research for articles. Students receive time-sheets to track use of time.

    ACE/AP English (meeting days ABD)
    Feb 23-27: Review of Characterization (77-80)
    Students examine characterization in “Everyday Use,”88-95 and in “Gimpel the Fool,”95-106; 106-108.
    Write essay: Is Gimpel a fool? You must provide at least six (6) quotations or examples from throughout the story in your essay. We will set a due date.
    Students who missed the test last week will take it this week.

    English 9 (Block 9.02 meeting days ACD; 9.03 meeting ABD; 9.06 meeting ACD; 9.08 meeting BCE)
    1. Students orally answer main ideas in journal questions and essay topics for The Pigman. Any students with presentations will have time on the second day of the week.
  1. For “A Man Called Horse,” orally, students justify their answers to the items on the worksheets. Students examine and label the parts of the Critical Lens assignment based on the story. Students write the essay. Due at start of day 3. On day 3, students edit each others’ work. Final draft is due by end of period on day 3.
  2. Five week period ends next week: be caught up.

    You will split your time in making sure that you are succeeding with English 9 class work and in working with the New York State Drivers Manual. We will use the Internet to test your work with the manual.
