Day 1: Students take a quiz on the third 8 chapters of The River; explain orally their answers to our worksheet on chapters 15-24; brainstorm approaches and information for the essay on 15-24; work further on the essay.

Day 2: Students learn three more vocabulary items from Earth Science and continue work on their final essay for the novel.

Day 3: At the start of the period, students turn in the essay on chapters 15-24 of The River.

Start work from Preparing for the Regents: Students relate ELA Standards, p. 2, to our work. Then use pages 15-18 to explain the tasks for the Regents Listening section. Teacher reads 48-50 aloud; students take notes. They use those notes for written response to prompt from p. 56.
