    1. Students prepare articles for second edition by Mar 19. Editors compose second edition of newspaper. Students turn in time-sheets to track use of time by end of week.

    Mar 22-26: Review of Theme (195-197) (Q3 ends 04/03; gradebook closes 03/26). Apply the notion and our earlier approaches:
    “Babylon Revisited,” 216-233
    “Harrison Bergeron,” 233-239.
    We will be referring to earlier readings also.
    Submit essay by 7 p.m. on Thursday, 3/25: “Writing Assignment,” 194, “Consider a short story. . . .” You must provide at least six (6) quotations or examples from throughout the story in your essay.

    Day 1: Students take a quiz on the second 8 chapters of The River; explain orally their answers to our worksheet on chapters 9-15; brainstorm approaches and information for the essay on 9-15; work further on the essay.
    Day 2: Students take test on vocabulary from abbot to anaerobic bacteria. Continue work on The River.
    Day 3: At the start of the period, students turn in the essay on chapters 9-15. Students continue work on The River.
     
    Day 3: Finish reading the novel by day 1 of next week.
