Greetings from Wayne Central School District.
 
Below are some items of interest.
 
 
Board Meeting:
 

1. Executive Session – There is no executive session needed for this meeting.

 

2. Building Tour – We are having our annual meeting at Ontario Elementary. The tour will begin at 7:00 p.m.

 

3. Building Project – As you can see, the major item of discussion is the building project. At our last meeting the Board asked that we bring the answers to three questions:

 

a. What are some concrete uses for Ontario Elementary?
b. What are the pros and cons of moving to one campus?
c. What are some concrete project options with costs associated with them?

 
Our president asked Board members to consider a fourth question.
 

d. What size building project do they feel our community would support?

 
We should have time to give in-depth study to each of these questions.

2.   Senior Trip – A board member had asked a question about the senior trip. Attached is an update from Lory Morrin and Senior Class Advisor Lisa Marlowe.
 
3.   Computers in Basement – At our last meeting a board member asked if it was true that new computers have been sitting in boxes in the lower level of the middle school for a couple years. I have personally searched the area and cannot find any. We do have computers that come into shipping and receiving as part of our annual replacement program. Also located in the technology department of the basement are any computers in need of repair
 
4.   Events – If you are interested in attending any of these events, we will forward additional information.

Senior Trip Information
 
75 students made their first deposit.
Currently 65 students have made their 2nd deposit and we are still collecting these.
The 3rd and final deposit is due February 8th.
 
We are working with Star Travel and Tours, here in Ontario, for busses and hotel reservations. We will be departing Wayne Central approximately 4am on Wednesday, April 10th and returning in the afternoon/early evening on Saturday, April 13th.
We have rooms reserved at the Hampton Inn on West Illinois Street in the heart of Chicago, to allow students the “real feel” of the city and to make it easy to get around to the popular attractions.
Reservations have been made for a dinner cruise on the Spirit of Chicago for Thursday night. This includes a 4-course meal and dancing. The cruise is from 7-11pm and will allow an evening view of the skyline.
An optional activity will be either a Chicago Cubs or a Chicago White Sox game on Friday afternoon.
Other activities will include, the John Hancock building, the Navy Pier, the Magnificent Mile, an Aquarium, Chinatown and Greektown.
