If you wish to have an email account through the school and do not already have one, please fill out the forms (extras are on the back table) to get one. EVERYONE needs an email account. Announcements and reminders will be sent to you from me!
 
I accept email attachments in .rtf or .doc formats. If you are using another format, please check with me to see if my computer supports it.

as well as a review of literary terms
 


The Regents exam



The Regents exam
Even though most of you don’t take this exam until next year, this exam will be the major focus of all writing assignments. We will practice all four parts of the exam: writing from a listening prompt, writing a report from two non-fiction pieces, writing a literary analysis from two works of literature and writing a critical lens interpreting a quote and using two pieces of literature from your own body of knowledge to illustrate.

Journal – this will be done in class on an irregular basis. Often these writings will act as a springboard for class discussion or for an essay.

We will also be working on vocabulary words and usage. There will be a test on these every week and a half to two weeks.
