Your 11th grade TO DO list….
·
If you haven’t already done so, meet with me to complete your junior audit. This is a review of your academic program to this point which helps us to ensure that we’re ‘on track’ with diploma and graduation requirements
·
Remember, if you plan to go to a 4 year college, you’ll need to take an SAT or ACT this spring. If you’ve taken your PSAT, this is a good first step in preparing for college entrance exams. PSAT score reports will arrive in December. Additional options to practice for SAT/ACT are…the college board website for the SAT,
www.collegeboard.com
and for the ACT,
www.ACT.org
. We have practice materials in booklet form available in the SC&GO. Plan to attend the review classes offered by Mr. Ford & Mrs. Marsteiner in the spring. You will also have the ability to practice for these tests through the Choices program/Test Gear site available on line, you’ll be introduced to this information in your EIP class.
·
Start your college search, the Choices program will also offer you the ability to do career and college exploration! Browse catalogues in the SC&GO. Plan to visit colleges this spring and summer. You can even request applications from colleges to which you plan to apply.
·
Start researching scholarships and financial aid!!
·
Parents of juniors and seniors are invited to attend our financial aid presentation on Monday November 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the High School library.
Seniors(fall to do…)

Your 12th grade TO DO list…
·
As you know, I provide a wealth of information to you about colleges and scholarship opportunities through the ‘senior bulletin’. Continue to read those and see me about items of interest to you!
·
Complete & return your activity sheet. This information is entered on to your transcript & is used for such things as letters of recommendation and consideration for scholarships.
·
You’ve narrowed your list of colleges to a manageable number (no more than 5??). Remember, we want to have college applications sent before Christmas break (Earlier deadlines for Early Action/Early decision applications). Ask teachers for letters of recommendation, allow several days for completion. Once you have given me completed applications & all necessary documents, I will review them for accuracy & completion. I will send applications out with transcripts within 3 to 5 business days. Notify me if you apply on line, your application will not be complete until I send an official transcript. **You must provide completed applications by Monday December 18th in order for me to have them prepared for mailing before Christmas break. **
·
FYI, acceptance letters & financial aid packages will arrive by mid April. You will then send a deposit to the college you plan to attend. I will send final transcripts to those colleges after you’ve completed your courses.
·
Look closely at scholarship & financial aid info!! Submit FAFSA forms as soon after January 1st as possible. Keep copies of everything you send.
