The trouble with most of us is that we would rather be ruined by praise than saved by criticism.”

Greetings from Wayne Central School District. Below are some items of interest.

Newsletter:

1.  Director of Facilities:  Mr. Callahan has assembled a team and has begun interviewing candidates. We have one internal candidate, Bob Miller. There are also a number of good external ones. I have asked committee to send me two final candidates. The salaries for our Director are as follows:

     Director of Transportation:    $63,077
     Director of Food Service:    $40,560
     Director of Facilities:    $65,386
     Director of Technology:    $65,386

The plan has been to have a salary range that would begin below these positions and go to the middle depending on qualifications. If you have any questions or concerns about determining the salary that way, please send me an email.

2. Accidents: We had two accidents on Thursday. You received an email about the drivers ed car that slid off the road south of route 104 on Ontario Center Road. No one was hurt. After school a bus slid into the bud ahead of her in the Freewill driveway. One student complained of being “sore” and was taken to the hospital for x-rays as a precaution. The girl was fine.

3.    Overnight Trip: I have approved an overnight trip for the ski team for sectionals. This will eliminate them having to make the trip back late at night only to return the next morning. Parents and team members are paying the room costs.

4.   Ginna Hearing:   Attached is the agenda on the Ginna Hearing.

5.   Professional Development Day: Today was a staff development day. I am enclosing the day’s agendas for your information. Today was a little more low key, focusing on each building, grade level or subject area, rather than a district wide program.

6.   Vacation - I will be leaving for the American Association of School Administrators National Convention in San Antonio, TX from February 16-20. After that, I will be spending Winter break on South Padre Island. I will be back in the office on Monday, February 28. If there is a need to reach me, Lori has my itinerary and location.
