Under Reports to the Board, Trustee Gretchen Craft reported on the next issue of the “What’s
Happening” due in early April, and Adam Vitalone reported on a Town Park Meeting he had recently
attended. VicePresident William Herbert reported on his recent trip to Mexico and the book he had just
completed titled What Really Matters for Struggling Readers.
The Board approved several CSE Cases and was entertained by the Elementary School Musical group.
This group of 4

graders, under the direction of Christi Byron and Art Teacher, Pat Sheridan presented a
song accompanied by homemade drums and rainsticks. This presentation is one of several ongoing
musical presentations during “Music in Our Schools Month”.
The Board approved the first reading of several policies and conducted a work session on the budget.
This session was short and consisted of an athletic update and State Aid report.
The Board also heard presentation on two propositions for possible inclusion on the May ballot. One
was for the expenditure of $100,000 from the Capital Funds for electronic door security access. The
second was for the purchase of three buses. Both propositions will be discussed further at the next
meeting. They would both be funded with reserve funds, and therefore, would not increase the tax rate
