Changes to RIC Schedule Thursday, November 9 and Thursday, April 13 meeting dates

October 5 and 6, 2000 at the Inn at Glenora. The purpose will be to develop our agenda for structure and function by reviewing the RIC Charge for recommendation to the Superintendents. Gary Warren, SED Social Studies representative, will be the guest speaker and Bea Parker of People Skills Institute will be the facilitator. Cost is $100 per district and will be aidable. Room reservations due by Sept. 14.
Reviewed CSO – RIC priorities identified last year: AIS, Math, Assessment, Regional Data and implications for:

Suggestions to begin benchmarking the group’s accomplishments will be addressed during the retreat

SED hopes to have CTB information to distribute shortly. Not happy with mistakes on regents exams. Working on statewide High School data in region.

Model Lessons (AIS) Summer Work:

Seventeen teachers from seven districts worked to create lessons based on the needs identified through the regional analysis of assessment data.
·
Lessons will be burned onto CD so that every district will have copies.
·
A pilot study was suggested to evaluate the effectiveness of the lessons. BOCES will coordinate.

Amy Perry introduces a pilot study to identify the use and needs of instructional technology. A Snapshot survey will be available on-line October 2-20; results due October 30. (handout)
