Special Conditions
Special Conditions
The residency of a child is presumed to be that of its parents. When the child’s parents live apart, the child can have only one residence, presumed to be that of the custodial parent. When a child’s time is divided equally between two households, the determination of the child’s residence rests with the family. A guardian’s application solely for the purpose of achieving residence status is not acceptable.
In determining residency, the school district must first permit the child’s parent or guardian an opportunity to submit information concerning the child’s right to attend school in the district. If the district finds that the child is not entitled to attend district schools, the district must provide parents with a written notice within two (2) calendar days stating the reasons for the determination and advising parents or guardians notice of their right to appeal this procedure to the Commissioner of Education.
Part-Time Attendance
Part-Time Attendance
Seniors may be eligible to attend school on a part-time basis because of employment.
Post-Graduates
Post-Graduates
Students who have graduated from Wayne Central High School may attend school on a post-graduate basis provided that tuition requirements are met, that they are district residents, and that approval of such attendance is granted by the superintendent of schools or a designee.
