| Abstract: | - Committees have reviewed passages and test items; teachers and students have piloted questions for this Test Sampler Draft and will be involved in field testing this year.
- The sample test of Grade 8 English Language Arts may be administered in the classroom to familiarize students with the test format and the types of questions that are being planned.
- For the sample test, students may mark answers directly in the test book.
- For the test beginning in 1999, students will use an answer sheet for multiple choice questions but will continue to write the answers to the open ended questions in the test book The test will be administered in two timed sessions over two days.
