Connecting to our Network Servers from Home with yo

Laptop or Home Windows Computer

Road Runner/DSL Version 1.1

 

Use these directions if you have Road Runner or DSL connection and you

wish to connect to our servers from home.

 

Connecting to the network:

 

• Connect your computer to your cable modem with an Ethernet cable or if

you purchase a wireless access point/wireless router you can be

wireless at home too! Do not purchase a wireless card for you laptop—

it already has one built in!

 

• Double click the

Remote Desktop Connection

icon on your desktop.

If it’s not on your desktop you can find it by clicking:

Start/Programs/Accessories/Communication

 

• Where is says

Computer

, type in:

209.68.64.68

(

Please note the three

periods are necessary and there are no spaces.)

 

• Click Connect

 

• Double clicking My Computer will let you work with your files or the

ones on the shares drives (Ashares or Sshares)

 

Remember, with this connection you are working another computer remotely.
